Being Behind the Handle

Rattatts started out as an instagram account handle (used as an alias,) to display tattoos and creations of mine with some degree of anonymity. Due to a few adverse life events, I have decided to be public about who I am.

I am Lila. I’m currently an undergraduate student at New College of Florida, studying Psychology and Scientific Illustration. I am working on several research projects in the realm of psychology at the moment—aiming to be an accessible, low-cost/sliding-scale talk and art therapist for children, adolescents and for young adults. In addition, I hope to work in crisis-intervention, and provide affordable treatments for those of all incomes. Thus, I intend to earn degrees in these areas.

Believing in a truly equitable life for all beings is what keeps me going. I believe that a just world is a tangible reality—which will be achieved by: decentralizing humans from our species-based hierarchy of worth, providing reparations to systematically disenfranchised groups, redistributing wealth, the removal of borders, abolishing and completely reconstructing Western, capital-based government systems (rather than gov. reform,) focusing on the welfare of ALL humans, of ALL non-human animals, of ALL environments, disarming and removing ALL police & abolishing our prison industrial complex, & much more, ESPECIALLY WITH A COLLECTIVE EFFORT. Everyone has the power to make a difference, every revolution started with a small group, sometimes even a group of one.

I have been creating for most of my life, and was recently introduced to painting. I am able to work on commissions of all kinds, including but not limited to: science illustrations, oil paintings, gouache paintings, pen & ink drawings, tattoos, piercings, wood burnings, resin castings, soy candles, perfumes, content writings, photography, hair (cut & color), makeup, piercings, and even spiritual consultations.
